The Dragonflies' Anatomy is depicted to the left. What makes Dragonflies stand out from other insects is their wings. While many insects can fold their wings onto there bodies when they land, the Dragonfly is unable to do so. When a Dragonfly lands, their wings stay spread out.
Dragonflies mostly eat flying insects such as flies, butterflies, mosquitoes, and bees. They use their mandibles which are a strong chewing mouth part to crunch their prey.

The life cycle of a Dragonfly is shown on the left. Starting from the circle on the far left. Eggs are laid in a body of water by an adult female. Eggs then hatch into a nymph which begins to grow and eat smaller insects such as smaller dragonfly nymphs, and tadpoles. Once the nymph is fully grown it will climb out of the water, and begin its metamorphasis into a young Dragonfly. This Dragonfly will begin it's new stage of life by eating other insects and finding a mate. Starting the cycle again.
